The man beside the road

A man is travelling from Jerusalem to Jericho. He is attacked and left injured by the roadside. Other travellers see him but carry on.

Then a Samaritan arrives. He approaches, bandages the wounds with oil and wine, places the injured man on his animal and takes him to an inn, where he cares for him.

Jesus tells this parable after an expert in the Law asks who his neighbour is. At the end, Jesus asks which of the three became a neighbour to the injured man and tells him to do likewise.
